The time for us to gather for a hike (officially) has finally come!
Through winter, I collected quite a few new ideas for places to visit so I have enough plans for this season (good news), and I would like to start with a trip that I believe is one of the special ones.
THERE ARE TWO RULES. Please do NOT join if:
– you feel unwell or somewhat sick/ill in whatever sense
– you are afraid in any way
In both cases you are welcome to join any other time.
We will meet Praha-Hlavní nádraží train station (inside, in the middle, in front of the České dráhy office). At 8.05. First we will take a train to Ústí nad Labem, from where we will change for our famous historic train (will take around 2h to get there from Prague). Visit the railway museum (just a small), and then the open-air museum. We can all have lunch in the village of Zubrnice. Afterwards we will finally hike towards Buková Hora, passing through a few extinct villages, finishing our day in Velké Březno with a beer from the local brewery. For those who still don’t have enough, there are also two chateaus before we get our train back to Prague.
I will take care of all the tickets (you will pay me later), just bring yourself, and perhaps some food. Better (ideally waterproof) shoes recommended.
HIGHLIGHTS:
🛤️ Scenic ride by a historical train

🚂 (Visit to the Zubrnice railway museum)
🏘️Visit to the Zubrnice open-air museum – really cool. You can see what to expect here: https://www.nmvp.cz/en/zubrnice
🔭 Buková Hora with a view (You may have already seen this tower somewhere from a distance)
⛫ A few abandoned, deserted villages (or rather their debris)
🍺 if we manage, we can get a beer at the Březňák Brewery
Please bear in mind that it does involve an ascending part to Buková Hora, although in my opinion everyone in at least a decent condition should be able to walk that. The hike itself is around 14 km long and will look approximately like this (but as usual, it may be slightly adjusted as we go):

Planned arrival back in Prague at around 20:30.
COST: approx 500Kč (for the trains there and back + museum). But it may be even a bit less thanks to groups discounts.
This event is free of charge, but any contribution for organizing and to cover the subscription fees is more than welcome (100 CZK is just fine, but it’s totally up to you how much you think the trip was worth, your financial possibilities etc.)
I’m looking forward to you all!
Jirka 🙏
