Trip to Bezděz castle and swimming in Macháč!

I’ve decided to make good use of the summer weather and go for something a little bit different this time.

Join me for a visit to the Bezděz castle and short walk to Máchovo jezero (Mácha’s Lake) to take a dip in it! If you’ve ever had the opportunity to get a view from places like Ještěd, Bohemian Paradise, or you in good weather also from the Petřín tower, Žižkov tower or even notherns parts of Prague, you may have wondered what that sharp peak on the horizon was. Well, that was Bezděz.

We will get to the village of Bezděz by bus leaving Praha-Holešovice at 8:45, with a quick change in Doksy. Then we walk up to the castle. The excursion itself shouldn’t take more than 1 h. Afterwards we can have lunch together in a Bezděz’s restaurant, before we set on our approx. 10-km-long walk to Doksy where we will sprawl out on the beach and take a bath in Mácha’s lake, one of the biggest Czech pond. Yes, pond, even though it’s called lake 🙂

Expected return to Prague most likely around 8.30 pm (depending on how we feel like).

In case of unpleasant weather, this event will be rescheduled for some other time.

PLEASE BUY your ticket for the bus to Doksy, it will be full. I think I’ve finally figured out the way to make the link work, but if the link is broken, just go to “buy ticket” and find connection Praha [*CZ],,Nádraží Holešovice » Doksy [*CZ],,aut.st. at 8:45. I’m sitting at the very back.

This time it IS NECESSARY TO PRINT OUT THE TICKET (Don’t ask me why, perhaps the oldschool driver loves to store the papers for memories. Or needs fuel for his fireplace)

This event is free of charge (you just need money for bus tickets and entrance to the castle), but any contribution for organizing is very welcome (consider how much you liked it, the fees I pay, my time spent etc.) If you prefer, you can do it anonymously by putting something into the white bottle in my side pocket anytime you want.
