Coming back one more time to my Romanian adventures, I would like to make a brief conclusion. As I’ve already said many times in the last months, the good thing about not having anything to lose is that you can only gain (more about that in my first post). And after the past 2 months I can only say I’ve gained really a lot. Adventures, experiences and experience, new contacts, and also new views and ideas. If you hear people talking about stepping out of your comfort zone, I think in these 2 months of adventures I’ve simply become a definition for thatĀ

The Last Week of My Romanian Adventure
My last week of travelingĀ
Friday 30th September
My two months of adventures have come to their end and this is my last post. Iāve really had a great time. The final week was full of traveling, and perhaps the riches in experiences of all. I hitch-hiked from the Piatra Craiului to the border with Serbia, found a way to get to a Czech village of SvatĆ” Helena where I visited my countrymen, and then, in the middle of nowhere, stopped someone sent by angels who brought me to Belgrade. Through Novi Sad and Subotica I went to Hungary, and after one day visit to Szeged spent a few days in my beloved Budapest. Stopping by GyÅr and Bratislava, psyched and full of experiences and great memories, I returned back to Czechia. I’m going to do it soon again!
The Seventh Week of My Romanian Adventure
Helping the family in the Piatra Craiului again
Tuesday 20th September
My volunteering stay in the Piatra Craiului is over. Today is my last day here, now I have ahead only final 10 days of traveling. Tomorrow Iām heading south to Drobeta-Turnu Severin, OrČova, and along the border with Serbia I will try to get to the Czech village of SfĆ¢nta ElenaĀ (SvatĆ” Helena), where I want to spend one night. Afterwards, Iām going to finish my two months of wandering by crossing the border to Serbia, visiting Belgrade, Novi Sad and Szeged, spending a few days in my beloved Budapest, and finally through GyÅr and Bratislava come back to the Czech Republic.
The Sixth Week of My Romanian Adventure
Week 6: Spontaneous trips are best – 2.000 km in one week
Wednesday 13 September
Since I finished the meditation course earlier than planned, I sort of found myself on the street for a while, and had to quickly come up with a contingency plan. The past week has really been very tiring and I feel I’ve had enough of traveling for now. I have many, many crazy stories to share, nevertheless, now I’m happy to be back in the Piatra Craiului and stay again in one place for some time.
The Fifth Week of My Romanian Adventure
Week 5: Valuable Experience from the Vipassana Meditation Center
Wednesday 6 September
On Thursday I said I would be offline and disconnected from the world for 11mo days so how come I’m posting this now? Well, it’s true…I should be meditating in the mountains right now…but in fact, I did not complete the course. Yes. I failed. Being ten days just with myself is even more challenging than I thought. On the other hand, I don’t feel like a loser. I don’t really feel too bad about it, I don’t feel like I gave up. It was still very valuable experience and I don’t regret it at all!
The Fourth Week of My Romanian Adventure
Week 4: The Second Volunteering Experience
Wednesday 30 August
Ten days of my second volunteering experience are over. I’ve had such a great time! I spent 10 days helping a family in the Piatra Craiului National Park. This place is just so extremely beautiful. It was basically ten days without a proper internet connection and, believe ir or not, I didn’t really miss the online life. I rather tried to enjoy the work outside in the fresh air, the nature and the beautiful views as much as possible, so I didn’t even devote much time to writing my blogs and I’m therefore posting my memoirs with a delay (as always). But I believe that you can understand š
The Third Week of My Romanian Adventure
Week 3: Wednesday 23 August
Moving on
Itās Thursday 17th August, Iām leaving Hosman – the place of my first volunteering, and I have to say that with mostly positive feelings. With rather mixed feelings about the new place Iām going to volunteer atĀ Piatra Craiului Mountains. But Iām staying positive, as already mentioned a few times, and experienced too, it may all turn out to be good in the end.
The Second Week of My Romanian Adventure
Week 2: First time volunteering
Wednesday 16 August
The second week of my journey has just passed and I would like to share some experiences and moments with you again. After almost a whole week of wandering around Romania, looking for a wi-fi connection and searching for a host, I finally found some peace and quiet. Itās been a week of my first volunteering, and If I shall summarize it in a few words, before I arrived I had had quite weird, mixed feelings and canāt say I felt too happy about the place and the circumstances, but in the end, in a way, I got attached to this place and, believe it or not, now it doesnāt feel so easy to leave.
The First Week of the Romanian Adventure
Itās exactly seven days since I left home, my original, and for the time being temporary, home. Itās been one week since I set out on an adventurous, low budget journey to Romania. Itās been a tiring week, but I donāt regret. After 7 days of wandering around Iāve finally found some peace and quiet, and with a bit freer free also time to share my story with you.
